Montreux and Basel’s beauty with Sanjeev Nanda

20 Nov

Hello friends! I am Sanjeev Nanda. Last week, I went to Switzerland and it turned out to be a great hit for me and my fellow mates.

Sanjeev_NandaThe Montreux town is in the centre of the Swiss Riviera, besides the Lake Geneva. I walked up straight to the Chillon Castle and so can you. Touring of the courtyards, castles, towers, rooms, and dungeons of this 11th century castle would render a warm and pleasant experience. This castle is one of the recurrently visited historical structures in Switzerland and appeals to throngs of people. Here, weaponry, furniture, and frescoes are presented through its different rooms.

Basel is the second largest city of Switzerland and I must say that you cannot afford to overlook these places, once you reach Switzerland. The reason why am I saying this is it witnesses the Fasnacht Spring Carnival every year. This carnival goes on for more than three days.

Each and every participant exhibits him in colorful dresses, masks and parade on the wide streets. Usually, Monday is the very first day of the Carnival. To enjoy uninterruptedly, the bars and cafes remain are legally open throughout the night. Sweets, confetti and flowers are distributed to the residents here to keep up the festive spirit. People from different corners of the world visit this place to cherish the festive colors of this carnival.

I have tons of such stories to keep sharing about different corners of the world, but till stay hooked to Sanjeev Nanda’s travel blogs.

Why I love Cycling

11 Nov

Hi I am Sanjeev Nanda an entrepreneur by profession, but a true biker at heart. I have been fond of bicycles since my childhood. The initial training of riding a bicycle was a challenge for me, and that was when I started loving cycling. The daily trial and failure was both challenging and exhilarating for me. It developed an urge to succeed, I wanted to master the wheels and drive the cycle according to my will. The determination slowly developed into a passion for me and today it is a hobby, my stress buster and my daily exercise.

Sanjeev_Nanda_love_cyclingNot many people drive bicycle these days but I have never really cared what others think, the fresh morning breeze and the mechanical rhythm of the pedal against your feet is engulfing. It drives the frustration out through my legs and fuels the speed of my bike. The experience of gliding with the wind is invigorating, it also smoothens up my distress and let the subconscious thoughts bubble up. Sanjeev Nanda the biker has offered many simple solutions to complex problems of my life. Moreover biking has become an integral part of my daily exercise, 5Km of cycling keeps my body flexible and mobile during sluggish daily routine of sitting on a desk.
Thus biking is more than just a passion to me and I hope it helps you too. Keep visiting my page for more interesting posts right from a biker’s diary.

Stretch limo is best for a wine tour by Sanjeev Nanda

11 Sep

Recently, I went to Italy on a wine tour and ‘splendid’ is the one and only world that hits my mind whenever I recall my trip. Thus, in the follow up of my blog, I’ll share some of the best things that I had observed in my wine tour. Though, there were many ponies and other vehicles for convenience of tourists, still i found that stretch limo was a great option in diversified ways. Sanjeev_Nandav

The follow up of my blog will talk about why stretch limo should be hired on a wine tour:

• No one has to take pain about driving: the best part of hiring limo on a wine tour is that nobody has to take the pain of driving. Above all, there’s a world of difference in driving on a road and hilly terrains so, it’s best to have a professional driver driving for you.

• Stretch limo is best: stretch limo allows going on a wine tasting tour with a larger group of people without having to hire multiple vehicles. So, instead of taking pain of hiring taxis or walking all day long, it’s best that you hire stretch limo.

• Exciting tour packages are available: There are many exciting tour packages available with the travel agents, so all you need to do is just check those exciting packages and book the one that suits you the best.

• Limos truly add to the overall fun: going by a stretch limo will definitely add to your excitement and you’ll be pampered in the best way possible. Once you finish of your tour, you can simply sit back and crack open your favorite wine from the tour and let the festivities go on the way up until you are dropped off at home. I must say, this one is truly a great way to cap off the day.

An overview of travel photography by Sanjeev Nanda

4 Sep

Hello folks! I am Sanjeev Nanda and travel photography is something that has appealed me ever since, I was just 10 years old and I could not figure out when my interest for travel photography transformed into my passion.

Presently, the moment I’m not working, I am busy with my DSLR camera. For me, every single corner in the world has countless shades and it entirely depends on how we capture those rainbow colors in our lenses.

I’ve always believed that creativity bleeds from pen of inspiration and for this reason, I give myself ample time to understand the culture and lifestyle of the particular place where I visit and once I feel comfortable, I start off with my photography session.

In my 10 years of photography career by now, I’ve analyzed different things about travel photography and the follow up of my blog will cover up loopholes of travel photography that I I’ve observed by now.

In travel photography, light can either be our best friend or a horribly mismatched travel companion. The mode the light enters and consumes a particular scene can either beautify or diminish the destination’s attractiveness. So in order to be a good photographer, you need to know how to spot and utilize the ‘right light’, making your pictures leap off the page and further, enticing to the fellow travelers.

The light at dusk and dawn, also known as ‘golden hours’ work well with city photos. The low-angled light, the extended shadows, the contrasting light and dark, and the varied colors of dusk and dawn grants freedom to the photographer to capture nature’s beauty at its best.

On the whole, I’ve a lot more to keep adding to this space, but till then…keep browsing through Sanjeev Nanda travel blogs!

  2. Tires lay a concrete foundation in the smooth functioning of a bike so; make it a point to check the surface of your bike tires for cuts, deflation or any other related issues.
  3. Other than the tires, do check the working mechanism of the bike accessories like the clutch, break, cables and especially the accelerators.
  4. It is acknowledged that you might not be familiar about each and every aspect of a bike’s working mechanism so, get your bike serviced by a reputed technician and at regular intervals.

sanjeev nanda santabarbaraHi, I am Sanjeev Nanda and this follow-up article in my blog will talk about my travel experience in Santa Barbara. ‘Wow’ is the only word that hits my mind whenever I recall my trip to Santa Barbara. Recent case studies have shown that Santa Barbara entertains more than a million tourists every year.

A trip to Santa Barbara with no wine tours will be an absolute waste so whenever you visit this part of the world, make sure that you enjoy privileges of wine tours. Regardless of the fact that you are an occasional wine sipper or a regular wine enthusiast, exotic wines prepared in Santa Barbara’s wineries like Santa Ynez and Foxen Canyon will get you in that perfect mood.

If you are a luxury lover, all you need to do is rent a limousine so that you can pamper yourself throughout your wine trip. Driving a car all by yourself will not just snatch away luxuries, but you will miss out experiencing the aesthetic beauty of Santa Barbara. Black hanging grapes will keep on tempting you throughout your wine tour.

Unlike other places, you do not need to wait for a specific month to plan your vacation in Santa Barbara, this place is known for its perennial tropical climate. So all you need to do is just pack your bags anytime and set yourself for a luxury trip.

For the reason that there are several wineries in this region, you will come across more than hundreds of exotic wine tasting opportunities. Things you need to know when in India – by Sanjeev Nanda

3 Jun

When you are solo traveler in India, there are so many things that you need to take note of. From paying extra attention to what you eat and where you go, to making sure you are not being cheated by anybody or everybody.

While travelling solo, there are a few things that I learned. If you keep these travel tips in mind, your trip to this cultural melting pot will be as memorable as any other destination. Trust me – you will have the time of your life!

While many see India as an unsafe country along with extreme weather during summer months, there is so much more that meets the eye.

When in India – Always, always & always drink sterilized water! This is extremely important from a health perspective. Watch the mineral water bottle that you buy very carefully. Check if the seal is intact, if not ask the seller to replace it at once with another sealed bottled.

The same alert goes for food. Try avoiding street food or anything that has been in the open for long. It is best to dine in a restaurant of repute rather than mess up with your digestive system. Unless you are accustomed to such food options and your system isn’t that sensitive, it is best to be safe than sorry.

Keep your driver’s license with you at all times. While travelling in trains, you may be asked for identification. In case you don’t have your passport with you, this will work just fine.

When travelling to famous tourist spots, remember to hire a guide from an authorized and recognized travel agency. Being locals, they know best. From the best souvenir shops to the history of the monuments, they will assist you accordingly.

Next, it is highly recommended to spend time on researching about your accommodation options and book your tour in advance. Most hotels won’t ask for your credit card details at the time of the booking but if you are planning a stay in one of the reputed hotel chains, they just might.

Do remember to confirm the package/stay/tour charges once you arrive at the hotel. Confusions and miscommunications can be best avoided with prior information and booking closures so that you can enjoy a hassle free vacation.

Lastly, keep your emergency contacts stored in your mobile/laptop/tablet and a notebook. List a local friend or someone you trust as your emergency contact as they would be more equipped and knowledgeable about the area. Do ensure that you store the contact details of a local medical practitioner in case of any emergency.

India is a vast and an amazing place to visit. You may have spent months here and still might not have experienced the best of its cultural and heritage wealth.

Sanjeev Nanda, a Blogger and Solo Traveler

22 Apr

Traveling offers the unique opportunity for me to share my experiences and pass on the knowledge I gained. The world has been vastly explored with probably a few left unknown to man. With the exception of unveiling secret communities cocooned amidst the Amazon or a bizarre jungle in some corner of the earth, and barring the depths of the massive ocean beds, there is no place left for exploration to man, which has not been featured on television or documented in journals.

Nevertheless, despite the usual rant, I do stress on the fact that venturing into any destination as a Solo Traveler with the purpose to explore the region from your own viewpoint calls for a unique experience. The real beauty and thrill of enjoying the entire journey can never be replaced by watching it on TV or hearing about it from someone else.

India is probably one of the most diverse nations to explore. It boasts of an ideal mix of cultural amalgamations, age old traditions, and innumerable tourist destinations. Its diversity, uniqueness, and intriguing features lure travelers from all walks of life. India showcases numerous facets to be discovered and planning a trip to this vibrant country, as a Solo Traveler, is a must.

It did not take an ounce of moment for me to re-think about exploring India. My friends did make a mention of it during one of our conversations, and that was enough for me to pack my bags and get going. Scouting through the narrow winding lanes of traditional bazaars, bargaining my heart out, and relishing some of the best street foods are just a few of the its vast dimensions that I had a chance to experience.

My journey through the rustic landscapes of India, ancient monuments, heritage centers, museums, ancient gardens, and national parks; all feature in this blog. As a Solo traveler, India has indeed left me with a pool of memories and the joy of warm hospitality to cherish for a lifetime.

I have traveled through some of the most beautiful and unique destinations in India. Stories of my treks through off the beaten tracks and unknown trails will cover most of the blog pages. Unique photographs from “The Sanjeev Nanda photography” portfolio will be featured to add a delightful visual appeal to my blog. Do look out for them.
